Gold Medal - 2008 Pool Of The Year
Gold Medal - 2008 Best Concrete Pool Under $100,000
Gold Medal - 2008 Best Lap Pool

This exquisite pool (below) was designed to compliment the Master Builders Award Winning ‘Home of the Year – 2007”. Adding curved lines to the 19 metre length made this a “lap pool with a difference” which maximised the aesthetic appeal from within the house.

From within the house, the style & full visual impact of the Pool is quite simply “stunning”. Influences of the upper planter boxes and ledges incorporate water features which harmonise perfectly with the creative design and shape of the pool itself. By night, the pool area is transformed yet again, with the use of glass mosaic Biszazza tiles, special effects and spectacular lighting display.

SPASAThe pool is fully automated with an infloor cleaning system (PCC2000), gas and solar heating, niche lighting, ozonator, water refiller, quality filtration and pumping controlled by the well recognised Aqualink system.

Gold Medal - 2008 Best Water Feature

SPASAThe feature of the pond (below) was to incorporate the wings of the house and to make a grand entrance.  The black interior gives the perception that the bluestone stepping pads are floating.  All equipment was located out of sight underneath decking. Bluestone pavers were chosen to contrast against the timber home.

Highly Commended - 2008 Best Concrete Pool Over $100,000

This pool (below) was designed on a grand scale to incorporate numerous features of the indoor and outdoor entertainment area. This spectacular pool has an immediate impact on all those who enter the backyard where they extensively entertain. The pool and centrally located magnificent water feature with 22 water spouts and Jandy deck jets from the floor are clearly visible from inside the house.

SPASADramatic colour contrast between paving and the stunning Ezarri glass tiles further enhance this pool. The Italian Bluestone surrounds blend perfectly with the pillars and feature trimming of the house. The pool, surrounds and water feature are all illuminated at night to create a dramatic impact.

Award Winner - Lap Pool

The team at Brighton Pools is delighted to have won this prestigious award against national competition.

SPASANot only was this a project with some unique challenges (below), but the outcome has achieved all the wishes of the client, as well as winning this coveted trophy.

Swimming Pool and Spa Association (SPASA) Best Lap Pool award 2006
client brief

The client wanted a pool where members of the family could swim laps. At the same time they wanted a pool with a wow factor. Something different. A centre piece to their outdoor living.

The new pool also needed to break up the flatness of the garden and lawn area, this being the main outdoor entertainment area for the family.

our solution

To achieve the wow factor the new pool was designed to sit partially above the existing ground level, flush with the existing decking that led out from the rear sliding doors of the house.

For aesthetic impact, a dramatic Ski Ramp water feature was constructed at the far end of the pool. This had to be large enough to be visible from the house, with dramatic lighting to illuminate the falling water.

Directly below this waterfall is a shallow pool section with spa jets for relaxation, and is sectioned off from the main pool area by a series of three stepping pads to provide access to the other side of the pool.

The clean lines and water feature at the end of the lap pool, along with a cabana located beside the pool, have created a dramatic change to the look and the lifestyle aspirations of the owners.

spectacular effect

Particularly at night, the pool provides a dramatic display in the garden. The Ski Ramp water feature has lighting playing through from the back of the waterfall. Two laminar flow water jets with fibre optic rotating colour wheel, shoot splashless streams of water into the main pool.

Inside the main pool are submerged lights located behind the stepping pads, creating a sense of a pond, rather than a straight sided rectangular pool.

floating on air
Raising the level of the pool, along with its cantilevered walkway down the entire nearside length of the pool, adds to the interest value, especially at night where mauve lighting located under the concrete walkway, creates a sense of the water being suspended above the ground.

Award Winner - 2005 Pool Of The Year

This pool (below) was constructed with straight lines and edges and was fully tiled with large black ceramic tiles. This pool was constructed and sprayed to 4 different levels. The negative edge to two sides overflow to a trough set at a lower level and the pool is edged by both pavers and decking.
